My twin sister and I were raised by my immigrant Filipino parents in the diverse city of San Francisco, CA (stolen land of Yelamu Ramaytush Ohlone tribe). Growing up in such a diverse city and area we were raised to embrace and be proud of the Filipino-American lifestyle of faith, music, family, and fun! Ever since I was young, I always had a wanting to help others. This then led me to health science/public health during my undergrad and I found my passion to help community and find solutions to free the collective from oppressive systems. I graduated with a B.S. in Health Science at Dominican University of California in 2020, during the midst of a global pandemic. Post grad led me to multiple jobs from public health to biotech to clinical research. In between those jobs, I started my self love journey (my twin gifted me a self love program). During my self love journey, I was able to finally reclaim what had been lost and taken away from me- my power and my gifts from my ancestral lineage. I stepped into my spiritual journey, with the help and guidance of my twin sister. Since then, I have been able to reconnect with my grandmother, tap into my gifts passed down by my great-grandmother, help people reconnect with their ancestral lineage, and provide a space of healing, rest, and reclamation for others in my community. Everyday, I wake up so blessed and grateful for the life that I continue to create for myself, the life that younger Jenyse wished for. I am blessed to be able to share my gifts with community and empower community to step into their most authentic being without shame, guilt, and fear for being persecuted. As a vessel for healing, I hope to awaken the inner healer in each person I work with.
